Which magnets are suitable for magnetic glass boards?

On magnetic glass boards, magnets can only reach part of their full force potential through the glass pane. You will, therefore, need stronger magnets to attach items to this type of board. Below, we compiled a selection of office and neodymium magnets for you. These magnets are perfectly suited for use with the magnetic glass boards offered in our online shop.

Please note: Our refrigerator magnets and magnetic tapes do not adhere to magnetic glass boards. Likewise, pot magnets, ferrite magnets as well as very heavy office magnets or those with steel caps are not suitable for magnetic glass boards.

Regular vs premium magnetic glass boards

Not all magnetic glass boards are equal when it comes to product characteristics. That is why we distinguish between “regular” and “premium” boards and show you the differences below.
Characteristics of regular glass boards (★★★):
  • Thickness of the metal: approx. 0,5 mm
  • Thickness of the glass: 4 to 5 mm
  • Available in our online shop

Characteristics of premium glass boards (★★★★):
  • Thickness of the metal: approx. 2 mm
  • Thickness of the glass: approx. 3 mm
  • Expensive
  • Available at specialty retailers

Please note: The magnets recommended above are suitable for regular and premium magnetic glass boards. Should your board have thicker glass and / or thinner metal, we can not guarantee that these magnets would hold.

Preventive measures

  • Never place magnets too close together. They might attract each other sideways, collide and break.
  • Do not move the magnets around on the glass board without a sheet of paper in between as this may cause scratches on the board. The sole exception are rubber or plastic-coated neodymium magnets, which protect fragile surfaces from scratches.
