What makes the Trauffer wooden animals so special?

We are certain: Everyone living in Switzerland knows the Trauffer cows with their red or black spots. But the wooden toys of this family business are famous far beyond the borders of Switzerland and sought-after as souvenirs. The first wooden cow was carved by Alfred Trauffer, putting a smile on children’s faces. In 1938, the Trauffer cows went into mass production. These iconic cows are carved from Swiss wood and painted by hand, combining tradition and Swissness. Over the years, other wooden animals were added to the product range of this long-established company.
